📢 Calling all growers, producers and agritourism businesses! 

We’re excited to share that Farms Open: Quinte & Hastings is returning for 2026! Harvest Hastings, Hastings County, City of Quinte West, City of Belleville and Bay of Quinte Marketing are partnering to bring this event back this fall. Starting off with a kickoff event at the Market in the Village: Stirling on Friday, September 11, 2026 and inviting visitors to join a self-guided tour on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13. 

🍁 This event is a celebration of local agriculture, community, and sustainability to connect visitors and locals to their growers, producers and agritourism hosts to support buying local.

That’s a wrap on our first-ever Farms Open event!
 

Thank you to everyone who joined us to explore, learn, and connect with the heart of our region's agriculture. We truly appreciate your participation and hope you enjoyed the experience. A special thanks to all the amazing local growers, producers, farmers’ markets, and agritourism businesses who opened their doors and shared their stories this past weekend. We are also grateful to the collaborators who made this event possible: Harvest Hastings, City of Quinte West, Discover Belleville, and Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board.

2025 Passport Game

 

Participate in our Farms Open Passport Game! It is open to everyone attending to participate in, just pick up a passport form at your first stop and play the game for a chance to win a prize. 

Here's how to play:

  1. Pick up a passport. Ask for a passport from the first Farms Open site you visit.
  2. Stamp your card. Ask for a stamp at each Farms Open site you visit. A minimum of 3 stamps are needed to be entered to win a prize.
  3. Submit for prizes. Drop your card off at your last Farms Open site you visit. It will be collected following the event.  

All valid passports will be entered to win one of two prize packs selected at random. Winners will be contacted directly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Farms Open is a similar style event to Doors Open, where businesses, markets and events are participating to celebrate our local agriculture. Visitors can self-guide themselves to participating locations to meet the growers, producers and hosts during this weekend event. As a visitor, you'll have the opportunity to connect, hear their stories and learn why they love what they do.

Farms Open 2025: Quinte & Hastings is being held on: 
 

  • Friday, September 12th - Stirling Farmers' Market , 4:00pm-7:00pm
  • Saturday, September 13th, 10:00am - 4:00pm
  • Sunday, September 14th, 10:00am - 4:00pm

The Stirling Farmers Market is the only event on Friday, September 12th, with all other participants on Saturday, September 13th and/or Sunday, September 14th. Participants dates and hours vary, please read through their Farms Open page above for more detail. 

Most locations are free of charge to attend, with a few events and locations that do have a ticket or entrance fee. View the participant pages above on this page to see who this applies to. 

The Taste of Tweed event requires an entrance ticket and Farmtown Park will have a donation jar in lieu of their normal an entrance fee. 

Pets are not allowed. While your pet may have a fun day out, not all animals on farms enjoy meeting other animals and it can sometimes be disruptive.

The Passport Game allows you to get a stamp at any locations visited on your card and when you visit 3 or more, you're entered to win a prize!

You can pick up a passport from the first participant location you visit. When you're finished visiting your selected participant locations, leave it with the last one you visit. They will be collected and anyone with 3 or more stamps will be entered to win a prize pack. 

You should expect a fun filled day with the opportunity to visit local farms, meet passionate producers, shop at farmers markets and see friendly farm animals. Learn what vegetables are in season, how alpacas are cared for, who is at your farmers market each week and more!

We have 19 participants including farmers markets, events, farmstands, a museum and agritourism businesses from Quinte West, City of Belleville, Hastings County and Harvest Hastings members. 

Farms Open is an all weather event and will go on rain or shine. Be sure to prepare yourself with water, hat, sunscreen, appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.
