Valley Manor is a private long-term care home nestled in the natural environment of Barry’s Bay. We are a fully accredited facility for 90 residents, and we are the area’s largest employer with 140 people on our staff. Valley Manor is also building a new residence – the largest redevelopment project in Barry’s Bay history! This new development will offer an even better home for our residents with larger individual and common area rooms. It is an exciting time to be a part of our organization.

Due to a retirement in our organization, we are creating a new, dynamic position for someone with strong coordination skills to reflect the growth of our residence. The Administrative Coordinator is a permanent, full-time role with coordinated responsibilities in several departments.

Here are some of the responsibilities of this position:

  • Organize communications materials for staff, residents and the general public
  • Being a first point of contact for guests through in-person, phone or email inquiries
  • Attend and provide minutes for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) meetings and staff meetings
  • Attend and contribute to the joint occupational health and safety committee and the accreditation process
  • Assist human resources with scheduling interviews and communicating with prospective candidates
  • Complete WSIB forms for review by the human resources manager
  • Maintain physical copies of personnel files
  • Prepare bank deposits, reconcile petty cash and organize daily mail
  • Accounting for resident trust, petty cash deposit, withdrawal and reconciliation
Qualifications
  • Experience working in the healthcare sector is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in administration or a combination of education and experience that is suitable for this role
  • Proficient in computers and able to pick up data entry program processes
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to keep track of multiple responsibilities at one time
  • A good communicator with colleagues, the public, residents and guests
  • Vulnerable sector check valid within the last six months (or able to obtain a check prior to hire)
  • Fully-vaccinated (including one booster) as per the Ontario Ministry of Health guidelines
