8 hour shift; Weekend availability




$15.00 per hour


As a new zookeeper, you will be responsible for the health and well-being of the assigned animals as well as the maintenance of animal habitats, buildings, grounds and equipment. This includes but is not limited to; preparing diet, designing and setting up enclosures, snow/ice removal, etc. You will report to the Curator or Head Keeper for daily tasks. During the open season, you will be responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional image. Please note that new keepers will not have direct animal contact until the probationary period is complete and a thorough review has been completed by the animal care committee.

Position Requirements:

– Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

– This position is physically demanding so applicants must be able to work on their feet for long periods of time and be flexible enough to crouch, twist, bend, etc. in order to maneuver within enclosures

– Should be able to lift 50lbs

– Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions

– Able to stay calm and maintain strict protocol during stressful situations

Skills and Abilities:

– Strong observation skills

– Written and oral proficiency

– Problem solving and analysis

– Ability to work within a team

– Able to follow instruction and protocols while working with minimal supervision

Flexible language requirement: French not required
