Located in Barry’s Bay, St. Francis Memorial Hospital (SFMH) is recruiting for Registered Nurses for those interested in making a difference in health care delivery within a rural setting. Our small and rural hospital, which recently was accredited with exemplary standing, offers both medical in-patient care, emergency care and a full range of diagnostic and clinical outpatient services in a collegiate, team approach setting.


Registered Practical Nurse opportunities are available as temporary part-time and casual positions.




  • Performs all work in a safe manner
  • Functions in accordance with and understanding the scope of practice and controlled acts model as documented in the Nursing Act and the Regulated Health Professions Act
  • Ensuring practice and conduct meets legislative requirements, standards of the profession and hospital policies and procedures
  • Maintains and continually improves competence by assuming responsibility for professional development
  • Demonstrates leadership by providing, facilitating and promoting the best care and service to the patient and the public
  • Contributes to and participates in the hospital-wide continuous quality improvement program
  • Current registration and a member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Current certification in CPR
  • Strong clinical and problem-solving skills
  • Emergency positions may require additional qualifications such as ACLS and PALS
  • Computer skills including MS word processing, spreadsheets, internet use and ability to easily learn program specific software
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
