St Francis Herb Farm has been one of Canada’s leading herbal supplements brands for 30 years. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Farm Manager, who will help develop its organic farm into one of Canada’s leading herb farms.

Our farm has a germinating greenhouse and will implement a permanent raised bed model to incorporate a variety of annual and perennial crops. St Francis intends the farm to be an important part of the business, playing several roles:

  • Supply St Francis with high quality, organic herbs.
  • Attract visitors and educate them about organic farming and herbs.
  • Build the St Francis brand story: from seed to shelf.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment and willingness to develop the farm to be a leading producer of herbal crops. We need our farm manager to:

  • Contribute to the vision of the farm,
  • Drive the execution of that vision,
  • Be passionate about growing herbs and plants,
  • Want to learn about herbs,
  • Communicate closely and pro-actively with ownership,
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and preparation skills by planning ahead to meet objectives and provide good follow-up,
  • Have strong problem identification and problem resolution skills,
  • Be motivated by goals and a desire to be part of new ventures and ideas,
  • Have an appreciation for organic certification,
  • Be comfortable with farm labour.

It is also expected that the farm manager will drive the creation and development of a botanical educational garden and various orchards. Our farm manager must have experience with the following:

  • Knowledge of soil care,
  • Planning, budgeting, and record keeping,
  • Managing people,
  • Arranging equipment maintenance,
  • Buying supplies.
