Qualifications
The Responsibilities
• Maintaining and performing full cycle bookkeeping
• Maintaining financial records for the clients
• Assemble year end information
• Calculate and prepare cheques for payrolls, government remittances including payroll, GST/HST,
Workers Compensation Board, corporate taxes, personal taxes and other government levies
• Prepare Tl, T3, T4, T5 and other tax filings
• Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
• Collaboration with the client as necessary to maintain a solid understanding of the client’s business
• Provide training and advisory services to the client regarding best practices for bookkeeping
Education
• Diploma, degree or certificate in accounting, business administration or other relevant course in
accounting is preferred
• Member of the National Payroll Institute would be considered an asset
• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
Experience
• Minimum of 1-2 years of bookkeeping experience
• 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience is preferred
• Previous experience in an accounting firm supporting multiple client files is considered an asset
Software
• QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, Sage 50 and Xero
• Intermediate skills in excel
