Assistant Sailing Instructor-Canada Summer Job Program

Quinte SailAbility offers the teaching of sailing to people of all ages with a disability. Quinte SailAbility provides a beautiful and interesting back drop operating out of Bay of Quinte Yacht Club (BQYC) located in the City of Belleville.

Job Duties: 

  • Prepare rainy day activities for days when the weather prevents the use of the sailboats
  • Demonstrate and teach the staff sailing skills during staff training
  • Maintain proper care of the sailboats and the sailing equipment
  • Develop program goals following the QS goals & objectives

Qualifications

  • To be eligible for this program you must be 15–30 years of age and a permanent Canadian resident, citizen, or refugee
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and / or additional physical, behavioural, and / or psychosocial needs as well as experience facilitating adaptive programming
  • Must have Ontario Pleasure Craft License
  • Experience in sailing and / or instructing activities on a waterfront
  • CanSail certification that is current for duration of contract or willing & able to successfully take the course, if interested we will pay for the course Can Sail provided work is completed for the summer
  • Assist with lead sailing instructor in program delivery
  • Other duties as may be required
