Here's how Hastings County got its new list of HOT Spots for 2014-15!

March 10th - 28th: Nomination Period

The nomination period is now closed - Congratulations to the 105 Finalists for the HOT Spots 2014/15 Competition!

What's the criteria to be a HOT Spot? It's easy! A nominee must:

  • be an attraction (business or organization) within one of Hastings County's 14 municipalities, and may not be located within the Cities of Belleville & Quinte West;
  • offer regularly scheduled hours of operation; and
  • be opened to the public and not by appointment only.

Remember, those nominated will be added to our list of Finalists, to be announced on April 2nd!

**In the voting period, it is up to devoted customers, attraction owners and the public at large, to decide who makes the final 50 HOT Spots list.

April 2nd - 16th: Voting Period (public vote)

It’s time to VOTE for your favourite local tourism attractions for the HOT Spots Competition!

The voting period is open from April 2nd until April 16th at 4:00pm.  The top 50 HOT Spots voted for will be announced at our Tourism Launch Party set for May 2014 (more details about this event to be released by the end of the voting period).

What does it mean to be one of the 50 HOT Spots?

The winners of the HOT Spots Competition 2014-15 will get recognition in a variety of forms:

  • a business listing on the Hastings County 2014/15 tourism guide;
  • a business listing on the exclusive HOT Spots webpage on (with a link to your website);
  • promotion on our Hastings County Twitter and Facebook pages;
  • a brief profile within our exclusive blog postings (five per blog post) about our HOT Spots throughout the summer of 2014; and
  • participation in our HOT Spots Challenge to be kicked-off at our Tourism Launch Party in May!
