Hastings County celebrates its tourism industry with HOTie Awards

On Friday, November 6th, Hastings County hosted its fourth Annual Tourism Awards Celebration to recognize the successes and achievements of its tourism businesses, organizations, festivals and individuals.

We are pleased to announce and congratulate the winners of the 2015 HOTie awards:

  • The Old Hastings Mercantile & Gallery

Tourism Organization of the Year

  • Wollaston Heritage Society

Rookie of the Year

  • Heart of the Park
  • Stirling Chic Studio

Festival of the Year

  • Tweed Stampede & Jamboree

Event of the Year

  • Maynooth Mud Dawgs
  • Wheels, Water & Wings

MVP (Individual) of the Year

  • Jody Didier (Bancroft BIA)

The celebration was held at the Stirling Festival Theatre. It was hosted by Timmy Boyle from Up Standing Comedy, and featured live entertainment by local musician Chris Morris, complimentary wine samples from Potter Settlement Winery and a preview of the Stirling Festival Theatre’s winter Panto show for Treasure Island.

We’ve yet again had another successful year with many nominations for each of our categories. Celebrating at the theatre made for an exceptional experience for the recipients as they made their way on stage to accept their awards.  We were also pleased to partner with the Bay of Quinte Tourist Council to offer another tourism awards program for the region.

Special thanks to our event sponsors for the evening: Stirling Festival Theatre, Municipality of Stirling-Rawdon, Municipality of Tweed, Limerick Lake Lodge & Marina, and Ontario’s Highlands Tourism Organization.
