The Municipality of Tweed and the Township of Tyendinaga are working together to develop a recreational multi-use trail that will act as a connection link between two rural community recreation centres. Users can cycle, hike, run, walk, urban pole and cross-country ski the trail. It is supported by The County of Hastings, Eastern Ontario Trails Alliance, Gateway Community Health Centre, Quinte Conservation Authority and various other volunteer organizations.
As a result of our Tourism Master Plan, a County-wide survey is used to measure visitor satisfaction at our festivals, attractions and visitor information centres.
Available reports include results for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.
A 2013 survey of seasonal residents was conducted by the North Hastings Economic Development Commission in partnership with Hastings County and Community Futures in Bancroft. Seasonal residents were asked to identify their needs and wants, communication patterns, future intentions, purchasing habits and participation rates in local activities.
Hastings County Tourism offered visitor information and services training to summer staff at municipal offices, tourism organizations and attractions each May. This free full day of training opportunity involves customer service, tourism attraction and marketing familiarization.
